Leo
Leo is both a patient consultant and a certified laser technician. He has helped build Vision Plus Medical Group from ground up since day one. In addition to his patient care and surgery day responsibilities, he is the outreach representative who helps our co-managing doctors with anything they need regarding their LASIK patients. Leo is the “personality” of the office, and his wide-ranging career interests are a clear reflection of this. His duties range from the laser refractive aspect of Vision Plus Medical Group to the optometry and general ophthalmology portions. Contributing his distinguished services to our clinic, Leo is one of only a handful of surgical technicians to be certified on all major laser platforms, including Visx S4, LadarVision 6000, Allegretto Wave, Intralase FS Laser, and even the non-laser NearVision CK procedure.
Leo is the proud father of a beautiful daughter and twin boys. His outside interests include his deejaying business and his love of architecture.
Yolanda
Yolanda is the “heart and soul” of Vision Plus Medical Group. She has been part of the staff since the very beginning and currently serves as the office supervisor. She has worked with both Dr. Yoo and Dr. Choe for over five years now. She has extensive experience in LASIK as well as primary eye care. Prior to joining the Vision Plus team, she spent several years as a patient counselor at a well-known high volume LASIK center where she acquired her vast array of knowledge of the LASIK procedure. Currently, she is the one primarily responsible for counseling patients interested in laser refractive surgery and coordinating their surgeries.
Never content with what she has achieved and where she is in life, Yolanda is constantly challenging herself and her colleagues to expand their knowledge base. If you ask her what she is up to outside of work, you will likely get a new response every time.
Lizette
Lizette is part of our front desk staff at Vision Plus Medical Group. She joined us near the end of 2005 in order to gain more experience in the medical field, as she currently pursues a career in nursing. Lizette is the first person to greet patients with a smile as they encounter Vision Plus Medical Group, either directly or by phone. Her primary responsibilities include scheduling and confirming appointments, but she has become invaluable in maintaining a nice flow to patient care so that patients are not kept waiting. Not only does Lizette keep our font office organized, she is constantly challenging herself to take on more hands-on aspects of patient care.
Lizette has already completed her AA in Math/Science at Golden West College in Huntington Beach. She is currently focusing her career path on the nursing field.Her one true escape from reality, she says, is watching movies.She loves being taken away from the realities and responsibilities of this world, if only for a couple of hours.
Rickie
Rickie is our senior ophthalmic assistant/surgical technician. He has vast experience in all aspects of laser refractive surgery, having worked with one of the largest LASIK centers in California for over five years. He is equipped to answer all technical questions you may have regarding the tests performed during your consultation as well as the LASIK procedure itself. Rickie, along with the rest of our staff, is dedicated to making your experience with all of your vision needs as comfortable and educational as possible.
Outside of work, Rickie loves spending time with his beautiful daughter. His hobbies include camping (he goes on a yearly campout to Big Sur) and poetry.
